Fishing is an active holiday that is one of the best ways to create an atmosphere for recuperation and fill the body with a charge of vivacity and a lot of positive emotions. There are plenty of fishing opportunities in Montenegro. This is one of the oldest activities in Montenegro. There is even a competition held annually in Kolasin, where all the professionals from Montenegro and nearby countries come.

For lovers of quiet but no less interesting fishing, the country provides the opportunity on mountain lakes or rivers. Clean mountain air, picturesque landscapes are an ideal place to relax doing what you love.

Greyling and mountain trout are caught in the Moraca and Tara rivers, and the winding beds of these rivers will appeal to all fans of spinning and fly fishing. There are also ruffe, bream and burbot on Tara.

Piva Lake is the largest freshwater reservoir in all of Europe. The lake was formed as a result of the construction of a dam in the Piva canyon between the mountains.

This is a special part of Montenegro, and we invite you to go on an amazing, unique trip.

The trip will start early in the morning around 07:30. Don't forget to take warm clothes: the air temperature on the coast and in the mountains can differ significantly. Comfortable shoes, swimsuits and some clothing to cover your shoulders and legs, as you will be visiting a monastery. The road to the north passes through the coastal mountains, Cetinje and Podgorica. 

Upon arrival, we will first visit the Piva Monastery. In 1959, when construction of the dam began, the bottom of the canyon in which the town of Pluzine was located began to be flooded with water. There were roads, bridges, hospitals and the Piva Monastery, and there was an order to leave the city so as not to remain under water. The Montenegrins could not leave and say goodbye to the monastery, so they dismantled it pebble by pebble and moved it higher into the mountains and built it the same way it was built back in the 17th century. Here you and I will light candles for health and peace, and you will be able to purchase monastery wine and slivovitz.

After the monastery and the road, you can cool off in the lake at the local beach!

Its beauty is emphasized by the emerald color of the water, which will captivate you so much that you will want to come back again and again. It is located in the north of Montenegro, not far from the lake - the canyon of the Komarnica River and the Piva Mountains. The length of the lake reaches 48 kilometers, the maximum depth is 200 meters. The lake is home to trout and maple (chub), the water is usually azure in color. In summer, the water warms up to 22-23 degrees.

After swimming, a boat will be waiting for us, which the captain himself made with his own hands, the cabin next to the boat is from a Range Rover)) You will never forget a walk along Lake Piva. On a boat we will “glide” along the glass-smooth water of this lake, and around you there is stunningly beautiful nature, green forests with rare trees, among which a special place is occupied by the Montenegrin pine, which is under state protection as an endangered species of plant.

From the boat you can swim under steep cliffs, sunbathe, take photographs and admire nature. Our good-natured captain will definitely treat you to homemade brandy and juices. Will also provide you with fishing rods. The boat can accommodate up to 6-7 people. A boat ride costs 35 euros per hour. On average, walking, swimming and fishing takes from 3 to 5 hours.

2 types of fish are caught: Chub up to 3 kg and lake trout up to 25 kg. You won’t be left without a catch!

The captain gives a 100% catch guarantee for chub. Trout fish differently depending on the month and weather. If it is very hot, it goes to the bottom 35-40 m deep and then it is more difficult to get it from the depths.

After fishing, you and I will have lunch at a colorful local restaurant.

Numerous photo stops and lunch breaks are planned throughout the route. Lunch is provided in a national restaurant with famous local food: Yagnetina from Pod Sachem, grilled trout, dried prosciutto meat, cheese, chorby (local soups), kajmak, Shopska salad, young red wine and much more to your taste and choice!

We return back around 19.00 pm. This trip is not tiring and is ideal for families with children, lovers of fishing, swimming and mountain scenery.
