This is the most exciting adventure in Montenegro! 

In its middle reaches, the Tara River forms the deepest canyon in Europe (length 82 km, depth up to 1,300 m) - the second largest in the world after the canyon of the Colorado River. The canyon was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List back in 1977 as part of the Durmitor National Park. Rafting on Tara is one of the most popular types of tourism in Montenegro.

The excursion will start early in the morning around 6.30 am. Even if you are not staying in Budva, we will take you along the entire coast, thereby you will admire the coast. Don't forget to take warm clothes: the air temperature on the coast and in the mountains can differ significantly. Comfortable shoes, towels to dry off and swimwear. The road to the north passes through the coastal mountains, Cetinje and Podgorica through Lake Skadar (passing). 

You and I will travel through almost the entire country, also passing through one of the most beautiful lakes in Montenegro - Piva Lake.

Surprisingly emerald-colored water, which reflects the majestic mountains and blue sky. Its length is 48 km between the mountains in a flooded gorge. The depth reaches 200 m and is the largest source and reservoir of drinking water in Europe. There are 2 types of fish: lake trout - up to 25 kg and chub - up to 3 kg. A stop is provided at the panoramic site and at the canyon of the Piva River.

When arriving at the rafting site, breakfast is provided.

After breakfast and changing clothes, tourists go up the Tara River (20 km) in jeeps to the starting point of your unforgettable boat trip along one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. Along the rafting route there is a stop for swimming in a waterfall. You will be enchanted by the virgin nature and beauty of these places.

Rafting passes through 24 medium-heavy rapids. During 2.5 hours of rafting you will feel adrenaline rushes and impressions that you will remember for the rest of your life. The Tara River spends most of its journey in rapids and waterfalls. The nature of its flow is truly “mountainous” - with rifts and whirlpools, and only closer to the end of the rafting it becomes calm and leisurely. In summer, the river has a beautiful emerald color; its waters carry a refreshing coolness even in the most intense heat. The water temperature rarely exceeds 12 – 15 degrees. We do not advise you to wear wetsuits, as they will make you very hot and you can get steamy, and the splashes of water will only refresh you from the Montenegrin heat.

Upon completion of the rafting, we change clothes, take a shower and sit down at the tables right there in the restaurant, surrounded by pristine nature. With a beautiful view of the confluence of the Tara and Piva rivers into the Drina River, national Montenegrin cuisine awaits you with the main dish of Yagnetina izpod Sachem! – young lamb baked in its own juice with a baked potato under a lid.

Tara rafting has category II difficulty, so it is completely safe and suitable for people without special training. Tourists from 7 to 60 years old are allowed.

After lunch we get together, drink a glass of homemade brandy for pasak and return back home.

Numerous photo stops and a lunch break are planned along the entire route. Lunch is provided in a national restaurant with famous local food: Lamb from Pod Sachem, grilled trout, dried meat, prosciutto, cheese, chorby (local soups), kajmak, Shopska salad, young red wine and much more of your choice!

We return back around 19.00 in the evening. This excursion is ideal for families with children, lovers of extreme sports and magnificent scenery.
