Program and description of the excursion to Lake Skadar

The excursion will start in the morning around 9 am. Upon arrival in Virpazar - a fishing village, there will be a little time to walk around it, change into swimsuits and see the local market with crafts from local artisans and souvenirs. We transfer to a boat for a walk along Lake Skadar (the water part of the excursion).

We will begin our acquaintance with Lake Skadar with the once largest market town of those places - the city of Virpazar, from the shores of which on excursion we will be able to see the main part of the lake, and on the other side in clear weather we will even see Albania – after all, the border of Montenegro with Albania passes through the waters of Lake Skadar! Virpazar is an old fishing village with its centuries-old fishing spirit.

Skadar Lake National Park has been protected by the state since 1983.

Skadar Lake is also called the “Bird's Paradise”, here live herons, ducks, cormorants, pochards, storks, pelicans and even pink flamingos come here in winter. This is one of the few places in the world where pelicans still live in the wild.

A lake with clear water, rich flora and fauna, numbering 264 species of birds, including the rare Dalmatian Dalmatian pelican, as well as about 40 species of fish. The most valuable are Skadar carp, trout and bleak.

A boat ride on an excursion will allow you to enjoy the beauty that opens up to your eyes. You can also refresh yourself by swimming in the clear water of the lake.

During the voyage there will be treats from the ship's captain - donuts with honey and homemade cheese. 

There are many beautiful islands and churches on the lake. The guide will definitely tell you about them.

From Virpazar we will sail by boat straight to the Crnojevica Riverto very beautiful places, from which a magnificent view of untouched nature opens.

After the excursion, a fish lunch with a panoramic view of the river at your request.

We will return by another road from which it opens magnificent view of the Budva Riviera from a bird's eye view of 900 m above sea level.

Numerous photo stops and a lunch break are planned throughout the route, which is provided in a national restaurant with famous local food: local grilled fish from the lake, dried meat prosciutto, cheese, fish chorby (Montenegrin soups), kajmak, Shopska salad, young red wine and much more for your taste and choice!

The excursion takes place only with a Russian-speaking, experienced, licensed guide! Good reviews and recommendations tourists about visiting this excursion. We return around 16:00.

Sailing on Lake Skadar by motor boat starts from Virpozar and takes approximately 2-4 hours. Tourists usually drive to the Crnojevica River with a guide and admire the local beauty. If you want to go to the river by boat, then please expect to rent a motor boat for about 4-6 hours.
