The first stop will be at a panoramic platform overlooking Sveti Stefan - the calling card of Montenegro. Everyone who comes on vacation is obliged to see this amazing landscape and mark this place by taking a photo against the backdrop of the island!

We will drive past small towns and cities

We will visit the city of Bar. It is the largest city on the coast, which at one time lived all year round in winter and summer. Although it is considered a port city, it has everything that a large modern city needs. Plus, the city is also a good holiday resort. A long wide promenade with a pebble beach, avenues, hotels and many Italian boutiques with inexpensive things, which especially attracts all tourists. But we are more interested in the Old Town of Bar, which is located at the foot of the coastal mountains. These places are thousands of years old. The Romans also called it Antibarium, which means opposite the Italian city of Bari. In the Middle Ages, a fortress wall was built, which at one time was a defense against pirate attacks.

This place is unique in its own way. Until the 19th century it was under the influence of the Ottoman Empire, but it soon ceased to exist, and taking advantage of the situation, the Montenegrins blew up almost the entire city with powder cellars. Almost all the houses had their roofs and walls blown off. The city became ruins and at the same time an open-air museum. There was no point in restoring it and local residents began to settle closer to the water. It is very interesting to walk through the ruins; there are many historical and significant sights left, such as: Aqueduct 18th century, Church of St. Nicholas 13th century, entrance gate 10th century, Hammam 18th century, Citadel 15-16th century, Bastion 16th century, Bishop's Chamber 14th century, clock tower 1753, churches and remains of foundations and walls from the 11th to 16th century.

Our next point is the southernmost city of the country, Ulcinj. It is rich in history. It was also conquered by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Serbs, Venice, Turks... and in the Middle Ages it was known as the “nest of pirates” and the “capital of the slave trade.” The main museums of Ulcinj (archaeological, ethnographic and others) are located in the Old Town. Few people walk around the old city, due to the waves in the streets and the steepness of the climb, but you can walk if you wish. This place is imbued with the spirit of the East.

We will definitely walk around the city. If you wish, you can organize shopping on the main street.

After lunch, you can eat at a local fish restaurant on the water on the border with Albania on the Boyana River.

They serve excellent fish ciorba, eel and other seafood.

Then we will go to the largest beach in Montenegro - Velika Plazha with black sand. It is saturated with minerals and iodine. It is very useful to warm your internal organs, bones and wrap yourself in this sand. Here you will feel like you are on the open ocean, watching wave after wave caress the southern coast of the country. Don't forget to take swimsuits) You can sunbathe and swim for 1-1.5 hours.

On the way back, if you wish, you have the opportunity to stop for shopping in the city of Bar (a modern city). Since this is a port city, from which ferries run to Italy and back every day, they bring inexpensive Italian things. And the town is one of the best places for shopping. 1-1.5 hours provide time for shopping and walking through Italian boutiques.

Numerous photo stops and a lunch break are planned throughout the route. Lunch is provided in a national restaurant with famous local food: Fish and meat soups, eel, seafood, grilled trout, dried meat, prosciutto, cheese, kajmak, Shopska salad, young red wine and much more to your taste and choice!

We return back around 18.00 in the evening. This excursion is not tiring and is ideal for families with children, lovers of history, sea and mountain landscapes.
