Some information: Lake Skadar or Shkoder is the largest lake of the Balkan Peninsula, located on the territory of Montenegro and Albania. The lake's water surface area is about 390 km², but can increase to 530 km² during winter high water. The average area is 475 km², of which about 2/3 of the lake belongs to Montenegro, the rest belongs to Albania. The total length of the coast is 168 km: 110.5 km in Montenegro and 57.5 km in Albania. To the west and southwest of the lake are the mountains of the Dinaric Highlands, and from the swampy northern shores extends the plain on which the main city of Montenegro, Podgorica, stands. In the northeastern part of the lake there is a long bay of Khotish, which is approached by the foothills of the Prokletiye massif. The eastern shores of the lake are flat and also swampy. Lake Skadar is rich in fish and waterfowl. Common species include bleak, carp, pods, freshwater eels, noble salmon, roach, alose, pachychylons, mullet and rudd. Birds are represented by no less than 26 species, with the little and great cormorants especially notable. In winter, the lake is home to more than 200 thousand birds.

Since Lake Skadar is one of the important attractions of Montenegro, you can get to it from almost anywhere in the country. Depending on the distance from the starting point of the journey to the lake, the trip can be by bus or car. Since Lake Skadar is a nature reserve, fishing in it requires a license. If you don’t get one, you will have to pay a huge fine or be arrested (illegal fishing is considered a serious crime in Montenegro). To enter the national reserve you need to pay an additional 4 euros, but you don’t have to pay for swimming in the lake and admiring the picturesque views. You can fish here all year round, but you need to pay for a license of 5 euros per day, and except for the period from March to May, when spawning occurs. 

There are about 40 species of fish, mostly from the Carp family. Carp up to 25 kg, bleak and eel. It reaches up to 20 cm in diameter and up to 3 meters long.

Program No. 1 (Half-day fishing)

Morning:

Departure at 5 am, arrival at the lake at 05.40 and from 6 am to 10-11.00 there is a swim with the fisherman captain fishing wild places on a boat.

Instruction, spinning rods, tackle and bait are provided. Fishing help and tips. We catch carp, eels and other fish.

Evening:

Departure at 15:30 in the afternoon, arrival at the lake at 16.15 and from 16:30 to 20.30-21.00 there is a swim with the captain-fisherman to wild fishing places on a boat.

Instructions are given spinning rods, tackle and bait. Fishing help and tips. We catch carp, eels and other fish.

Program No. 2 (Fishing for the day)

Departure at 7 am, arrival at the lake at 07.40 and from 8 am to 12-12.30 there is a swim with the captain-fisherman to the wild fishing places on boat.

Swimming, sunbathing. We return back to the shore to the fishing village and eat at a local restaurant (lunch is not included in the price). Rest.

Then swim for evening fishing for another 4 hours.

-Program No. 2(Fishing for a day) - 325 euros for up to 4-6 people

The price does not include transfer from the coast to the lake and back.
